LECTURES
WEEK 5:
We are introduced to double exposure photography, its refers to merging (overlaying) multiple images. The goal is to make them surreal, emotional, or humorous. People tend to use a different kind effect for create double exposure images, such as tilt-shift effect (filter>blur gallery>tilt-shift), fake reflection, experiment with simple portraits and details textured (combining plain and complex photo), convert the result to black and white, work with silhoutte, pick 2 random photo, make simple objects look fascinating, and use shadow. Also, I learned about types of blending mode (in photoshop).

Mr. Fitri then demonstrated some kind of the blending modes to us. He also showed us one of his creation and how to do it. After that, we have to watch the tutorial for this and make it our own. We are required to do 2 double exposure photo, 1 is from the tutorial and the other is our own photo.

TASK 2A - Double Exposure
PROCESS
1. Double Exposure 01 (Tutorial)
Firstly, I watched the whole tutorial and followed the instructions. I used the photos that mr. Fitri give and select it to remove the background. Then, I use brush to 'delete' the head part (1), along with added forest photos and making it a clipping mask layer (2). Then, I duplicate the forest layer and flip it so it looks like a reflection (3). I added the 2 birds photos and use the mask tool and also the blending modes to remove the white background(4). I added clouds and tried out some of the gradient map (legacy gradient)(5). Lastly, I choose the same gradient map that mr. Fitri used in the tutorial.

2. Double Exposure 02
For the double exposure 02, I made 2 designs. I mostly find the photos from unsplash.com or pixabays (the web that mr. Fitri recommend to us). In this process board, the pictures I use in on the left, and the steps is on the right (picture with the numbers). For the first one, the idea is to make it like a reflection in the water. I insert the stair picture>remove the background>use the blending mode "dissolve" then put it in the top(1). To add elements, I use the hole picture and use the blending mode "divide"(3). I added a fire element to make it more fancy (3) and change it into black and white. Also, I added a city landscape as the overlay (blending mode>soft light)(4). For the final touch, I use the gradient map that Mr. Fitri has taught us earlier (the legacy gradient>photographic toning)(5).

For the second design, I started with the girl with mirror photo(1). Then, I added a girl with yellow dress photo (blending mode: hard light) as a silhouette and added an adjustment layer to make the color black and white. I also added the lighting overlay and change the blending mode as "screen"(2). To make it better, I inserted a forest picture and make the color b&w as an overlay for this design. After that, I duplicated the silhouette girl photo and select only the girl, changed it into color burn to highlight the silhouette. (3). For the last touch, I also use gradient map>photographic toning(4).

FINAL RESULT
In making this, Mr. Fitri gave me advice to reduce the girl (background) photo's opacity and highlight the girl's silhouette.
